In my opinion, and I know many others’, the Dental Technology Showcase (DTS) is one of the highlights of the dental year. It brings together dental technicians, lab owners and CDTs in an unmissable annual event, and with April 22nd and 23rd drawing closer, final preparations are underway.
This year I was invited to be Chairman of the 2016 educational programme for DTS, which is something I consider a huge honour, and I’m grateful and excited to have a role in making DTS the best it can be. With several hours of verifiable CPD available for delegates, and plenty of world-class speakers, I personally believe that DTS should be the most important event on the calendar for UK dental professionals.
As well as chairing the educational programme, I am also be among the headline speakers at DTS, delivering a seminar on ‘Digital Workflow -CAD/CAM, one solution’ which I’m really looking forward to. As a prominent trainer and lecturer focusing on CAD/CAM digital workflows in restorative dentistry, it will be great to lecture on a topic I’m well-informed in, and to be able to share my knowledge with others in the dental profession.
It’s my aim to show the delegates of this year’s Dental Technology Showcase some of the latest materials and products that are being used by these world-class technicians, so that they come away from the show with an awareness of all the potential restorative options that are available to them. This aligns with what I think is the most important aspect of DTS, which is that we make a statement about the passion of the profession as well as the quality of UK dental technology by showcasing the high standard technicians we have in the UK.
As always, DTS 2016 is running parallel to The Dentistry Show, which is a fantastic opportunity for attendees to catch up with everyone in the dental team. My suggestion is that delegates try and arrange to come along with their surgeons, and show them just how much is changing in the dental technology arena. I’m immensely proud of how much dental technology has progressed even very recently, and I think this is our chance to publicise that.
Last year DTS drew a crowd of over 1,500 delegates at the NEC in Birmingham, where an informative two-day educational programme along with demonstrations of cutting-edge products, materials and technology impressed every visitor. This year looks set to be bigger and better than ever, so I look forward to seeing you all there.
DTS aside for a moment, I want to take the opportunity to say a big thank you to our friends, partners and clients who have worked with us, supported us, and made nexus so successful. I have no doubts that nexus’ achievements are what allow me to continue pursuing these opportunities to lecture on the subjects I am so enthusiastic about, and I am lucky to work alongside a great team, who provide our lovely patients with beautiful dental restorations using the latest technology.
